My name is Terry and this is my blog.

I am currently living in Los Angeles.

I like films, music, and don't even get me started on long walks on the beach.

I don't read a lot of books, but am always fishing for book recommendations.

My parents are Vietnamese and I was born in America.

That's all you really need to know upfront.

12/04/2007: "You Must Wonder How I Play it Out in My Head"

"Song of Our So-Called Friend (Will Sheff solo at Planet Claire)"

I never get tired of listening to this song and Largehearted Boy posted a brilliant live version of it in light of The Stage Names being one of the better albums of the year.

I've heard a ton of versions of the song and had the privilege of hearing it live three times over the last few years (a few years ago at The Echo, in Austin during ACL, and earlier this year). This is one of the best versions I've ever heard.

Will Sheff is one of my favorite songwriters of the moment and this song is an excellent example of his lyricism. The narrative is so forceful that you can't help playing out the scenes in your own head, because let's face it, most of us have been in that situation before. If you haven't, lucky fucking you.
